FILLING OUT YOUR BALLOT? QUESTIONS ABOUT PROP. 30? From the Tzedek Council
The California Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism (RAC-CA) recently put forth a proposal to officially endorse Proposition 30 as part of its Climate Tzedek campaign. The ballot initiative, if passed, would tax personal income over $2m/year in order to fund the battle against climate change beyond Governor Newsom's already green-lit programs.
Because of pushback from some clergy and lay leaders, RAC-CA declined to take a position, and instead released a two-page Q&A to educate congregations on the issue and clear up some misinformation that's crept into the public debate. You can read the quick two page summary here .
Whichever side you land on, be sure to VOTE, and VOTE EARLY!
