In this session we will explore Israel as a modern nation state. It will cover the develop of Israel into a modern thriving country known as the start up nation with a focus focus on technological advancement, as well as Israel becoming a world research and development hub. This session will also explore contemporary issues within Israel including demographic changes, assimilation of different groups, current day politics and the continued fight for LGBTQ equality in Israel.

We will look at how Israel is not only central to our history but also integral to our religious identity, especially through our traditions and the cycles of the Jewish calendar.
