"Doctoring in LA's Safety Net"
Mark Bunin Benor will explore Jewish medical ethics as it applies to serving as a physician with marginalized and disadvantaged populations.

Dr. Benor is a Family Physician who has provided medical care for marginalized and disadvantaged populations in the Los Angeles area for almost 2 decades.

He finished his Family Medicine residency at Harbor UCLA county hospital in 2007 and worked at the LA Free Clinic (now Saban Community Clinic) until 2013. In 2013, he helped found the Achievable Health Center at the Westside Regional Center, our country's first-ever Federally Qualified Health Center designed to provide comprehensive high-quality primary care to individuals with developmental disabilities such as Intellectual Disability, Cerebral Palsy, and Autism. Since 2018, he has split his time working with incarcerees at the LA County Jail and on Skid Row providing primary care to individuals with a current or a past history of chronic homelessness. He is the proud father of three brilliant teenagers and the lucky husband of the famous and highly acclaimed sociolinguist, Dr. Sarah Benor Ph.D.
