A Mother-Daughter Lead Shabbat Service Friday January 7, 2022 Cantor Linsky will be with us every Friday night in January and February! On her first night with us, Cantor will lead services with her daughter, Kol Ami's Education Resident, Eliana Rubin! Please join us for this one-of-a-kind service.

Family Shabbat Online Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 AM Keeping in mind the safety of our community, we have decided to make this event virtual only. We hope you'll join Rabbi Levy and Education Resident Eliana Rubin for our first family Shabbat of 2022! Join us for a delicious Persian Dinner, Purim Shpiel and a Megillah reading all on a fun-packed Saturday night, March 19, 2022 at Kol Ami!! Tu Bish'vat: Doing Our Part to Protect Our Planet Sunday, January 16 at 3:30 PM NOW ONLINE ONLY. Join the Tzedek Council of Kol Ami for a special program in observance of Tu Bish'vat, the Jewish holiday for trees! We will be gathering virtually to learn a bit about the Jewish holiday for trees, Tu Bish'vat, then learning a bit about how we can reduce waste in our communities through composting in light of California's new statewide composting law. Who Knows Six? An Introduction to the Mishna Six Week Online Course on Wednsedays at 6:30 PM Begins January 19 Many Jews are at least somewhat familiar with the Torah and stories from the Bible (what the ancient Rabbis referred to as the "Written Torah"), but many have not explored other core texts of Jewish tradition. Join Rabbi Levy for this six-week survey of the Mishna, the earliest collection of Oral teachings (the "Oral Torah") that lay the groundwork for the Talmud and shaped Jewish life as we know it today. Shabbat Holiness Hike Saturday, January 22 at 9:30 AM Take a break from the craziness of the week (and the city) for the first in a series of Shabbat morning hikes with Rabbi Levy! This time we're going to explore Inspiration Point in Will Rogers State Park.All levels of hiking are welcome! Broadway Showstoppers: Sondheim Tribute Sunday, January 23 at 4:00 PM Glenn Rosenblum pays a tribute to Stephen Sondheim, among the most important figures in 20th-century musical theater, Sondheim was praised for having "reinvented the American musical" with shows that tackled "unexpected themes that range far beyond the [genre's] traditional subjects" with "music and lyrics of unprecedented complexity and sophistication". Reminder: New COVID-safety Protocol We now require proof of vaccination for COVID-19 upon entry to any in-person Kol Ami event, either by showing digital proof (photo of your card or digital card) or your hard copy of your vaccination card, along with your Photo ID. We are continually monitoring the surge of cases with the Omicron variant to ensure the safety of our community.
