World AIDS Day Observance Wednesday, December 1 at 7:00 PM Kol Ami to host the biggest LA event to mark World AIDS Day. This year we mark 40 years since the first AIDS diagnosis. Join us in the fight against HIV, show support for people living with HIV, and commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related illness.
Shabbat Holiness Hike Saturday, November 13 at 9:30 AM Take a break from the craziness of the week (and the city) for a hike at Fryman Canyon with Rabbi Levy! We will explore some of the great natural settings around the LA area while creating spaces for quiet reflection and a bit of text study. All levels of hiking are welcome! In this year of sh’mita, the seventh year when the land lies fallow, we hope to explore our connection with the natural world as a source of healing and renewal (plan for 1.5 hrs). REGISTER HERE
Family Shabbat Saturday, November 13 at 11:00 AM Families with kids are invited for Family Shabbat, We'll be telling the story of Babel using a building competition and playing games that focus on our emotions. As always, there'll be plenty of running around, singing songs, and, of course, eating bagels! REGISTER HERE

Rabbi Levy Installation Weekend Friday, November 19 at 6:30 PM Special musical Shabbat service including Rabbi Levy's formal installation by Rabbi Dr. Jan Katzew. Outdoor pre-Shabbat oneg will begin at 5:30 PM. Service will be streamed live on Kol Ami's website, Facebook and YouTube pages.
Saturday, November 20 Torah Study with Rabbi Dr. Katzew beginning at 10 AM
Plan to attend 1, 2 or all 3 free sessions. Many of you have shared your desire to create community and connect with others who have chosen Judaism. We are pleased to offer this new pilot program for those who have chosen Judaism from the URJ. Have you converted to Judaism in the past five years? Join an online gathering where you can make connections, process your experiences, and learn with others in this safe space offered through a Reform Jewish lens. Ask questions without fear, share triumphs and challenges in a nurturing environment, and continue to explore your journey with Judaism in a community of care.
