Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.

Transgender Day of Remembrance 2023 with Kol Ami

Join Kol Ami on November 17-18 at the conclusion of Transgender Awareness Week for a full Shabbat honoring Transgender Day of Remembrance.
 
Friday November 17
Join Rabbi Barry Lutz and Rabbinic Intern Frankie Salzman at 7:05 PM for a special Shabbat Service dedicated to Transgender Day of Remembrance.
 
Saturday November 18
Shabbat Awakening Morning Service at 10AM will celebrate Transgender identity and remember the Transgender souls lost to violence this past year. 
 
Prophetic Torah session led by Rabbinic Intern Frankie Salzman at 11:00 AM will focus on Gender and Judaism.

Loving Our Trans Jewish Children: A Conversation with an Israeli an American Mom

A Wider Bridge hosts on Zoom two Jewish moms who have been outspoken about loving and supporting their children, including their trans children. Mindy is the mom of an Israeli boy at the center of a series of court cases, and uses her voice to advocate for inclusion of children in schools. Kate is the mom of twins, and wrote a recent book "Transister: Raising Twins in a Gender Bending World" on her journey raising twins--one cisgender and one transgender. Register here
