Dear Kol Ami,
I cannot thank you enough for the incredible warm welcome I have received since arriving in July. I want to remind you that I am interested in getting to know each one of you personally. Please do reach out via e-mail or call the office if you would like a coffee date, or a one on one meeting with me. I look forward to learning more about you and your connection to Kol Ami.
This past week I had the blessing of completing an 18 month Fellowship with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. It was amazing to gather at Pearlstone Jewish Retreat Center outside of Baltimore with over 40 Rabbis and Cantors for a week of deep learning, uplifting prayer, and meditation in order to empower us to deepen our spirituality and our communities spiritual offerings. I am deeply grateful to IJS for their incredible training of clergy, the insightful learning, spiritual fellowship offered to us and our communities for ongoing spiritual practice. Over the next year together we will learn more about their incredible offerings which are extended to each of you as well, daily online meditations, weekly free yoga classes, and affinity groups. They also have many opportunities for deeper learning should spirituality be something you care about.
Join us this Friday as we celebrate our last Shabbat with David Kaminski as our accompanist. He’s been joining us for the month of July. Lisa Edwards will join us again in August for Friday night services. Please know that I am experimenting with many different musical and spiritual offerings on Friday nights this summer. So come as much as possible to let me know what feels like a wonderful fit for you and for Congregation Kol Ami. The plan is once we find a groove to offer a variety of Shabbat experiences for all to enjoy.
I cannot wait to see you this Friday night! Please consider this your personal invitation from me to spend Shabbat with Kol Ami. When you come please come introduce yourself to me as well!
Wishes for an early Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Lindy Reznick
