Dear Kol Ami Community,
Shanah Tovah from all of us at Congregation Kol Ami. On behalf of the clergy, staff and Board of Trustees I want to wish you and your family a very sweet and happy 5783. As you prepare for your Yom Kippur fast, we have included this special blessing as the New Year begins.
We look forward to welcoming you Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to services, both in person and online, at Temple!
Don't forget to familiarize yourself with all the details for parking and check in if you are coming in person. Come early and allow time. And if you are joining us online, the zoom room will open 20 minutes before services so you can be checked in. Information is below.
Again, Happy New Year. May it be filled with abundant blessings for you, your family and friends and our Congregation.
Shanah Tovah u’metukah,
Rabbi Denise L. Eger
A prayer as we enter Yom Kippur:
The Holiest day of the Year is about to begin. We call this Shabbat Shabbaton, the Sabbaths of Sabbaths. Let us use this holy day well. May it be for each one of us a day of renewal. May it help us to overcome what is evil within us and to strengthen what is good inside. May our confessions bring us clarity of mind and heart and soul. May we seek forgiveness and atonement from God and those we have harmed. May we have the courage to grant forgiveness and atonement to those who have harmed us. May it bring us closer to one another, and make us more loyal to our covenant with You, our God, and our community.
On this holy night of Yom Kippur open the gates of righteousness to us and the Jewish people and inscribe us for a new year of life in the Book of Life Well Lived. Amen
