The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, Jewish Family Service and Jewish Free Loan have provided resources for anyone in the community who needs assistance especially during the Pandemic:
Ezra Network Wrap-around Services The Federation’s Ezra Network provides wraparound social services to those in need in our Jewish community, including government benefits applications, short-term counseling, legal services, job search readiness training, and screening for financial assistance via Federation’s Max Factor Family Foundation Financial Assistance Network. By calling Federation’s Community Call Line at (323) 761-8305, any Jewish community member in need will be connected to the Ezra Network to begin to navigate these FREE services.
Jewish Free Loan Interest-free loans fill an important gap in our social system by promoting self-sufficiency and dignity. Traditionally, individuals must have one to two guarantors to secure an interest-free loan from JFLA, but our Federation, , has made it possible to make higher-risk loans to Jewish individuals who do not have the luxury of a guarantor. JFLA lends at a 1:2 ratio against the funds we have provided; with JFLA lending two dollars for every dollar in our Interest-Free Loan Fund. If a client defaults on the loan, and the collection process does not yield payment, funds from the Federation’s Interest-Free Loan Fund will be drawn. Community Call Line If you or someone you know needs access to social services including financial assistance, please contact The Jewish Federation’s Community Call Line at (323) 761-8305. The Jewish Federation has increased its funding and support of the Max Factor Family Foundation Financial Assistance Network. This assistance will help Jews whose income has been reduced, hours have been eliminated, or businesses are suffering. Los Angeles Jewish Community Resource Guide
