As part of its COVID-19 Response Plan, the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles has provided Congregation Kol Ami with a grant through its Nourishment Fund. The $3,500 grant we received is making it possible to help the most vulnerable among us. If you need assistance with food, rent, or utilities, please contact Rabbi Eger at rabbi@kol-ami.org. All inquiries are strictly confidential.  ​​​​​​​ The Federation's Ezra Network continues to provide case management, job counseling, legal and financial assistance independent of these funds.
Our temple family will gather for a memorial for Robert Wymss z"l, long-time member of Kol Ami, today (January 3) 2021 at 2 pm on Zoom.   (click this link to enter) Robert, who died of a heart attack Friday (Dec. 25), addressed the congregation about being a long time survivor of HIV at our World AIDS Day Observance in 2019. He was an LCSW and worked at the VA with Vietnam Veterans treating their PTSD. Robert also had gone back to school two years ago as a law student.

Kol Ami's Tzedek Council is partnering with Jewish Coalition Assisting Refugees & Immigrant in this lovely, heartwarming initiative, Miles4Migrants. This initiative collects donations of airline milage (since most of us don't use them during COVID anyway...) and takes advantage of them before they expires to book flights and help reunite families. All in support if the secret Jewish mitzvah of welcoming the stranger/refugee/sojourner/foreigner. Donate your miles here Together, we can transform miles into a life-changing force for good.
