A Taste of Judaism is a three-session course offering a broad introduction to modern Jewish spirituality, values, and community. Anti-Bias & Anti-Racism Training Sunday, August 16 & August 30, 4:00 PM Relearn history, question your biases, and develop new skills to combat racism in yourself and your society with Congregation Kol Ami! Join us as we welcome Essence Cohen Fields, Licensed Professional Counselor to our virtual space on Zoom. In these two sessions, we will learn about the trauma of racism from a mental health perspective, and the historical context of systemic racial injustice in our society, particularly as it relates to the current movement and community uprising. We will work towards identifying our own biases—stereotypes, prejudices, micro-aggressions, as well as discussing best practices to support marginalized groups and strategies for allyship and activism.Join our community and our Anti-Racism Working Group as we recommit to the fight against racism in ourselves, our communities, and our society at large. Virtual Postcard Writing Party to Combat Voter Suppression August 23 & September 13, 1:00 PM Kol Ami will host two postcard writing sessions on Sunday, August 23rd and Sunday, September 13th at 1:00 PM. Please join us for one or both as we write postcards to infrequent voters in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Texas with information about how to ensure their votes are counted on November 3, 2020!
