A pioneer for women in Orthodox Judaism, Dina Najman is the founder and the Rosh Kehilah (Spiritual Leader) of The Kehila of Riverdale, NY. Prior to that she served as the Spiritual Leader of Kehilat Orech Eliezer on the Upper West Side. She was the first Orthodox Woman to head a congregation. An ordained Orthodox Rabbi, RK Najman has extensive experience teaching and speaking in the Jewish community on topics ranging from bioethics to environmental law. She holds a BA from Yeshiva University, where she majored in Biology and minored in Judaic Studies, Music and Speech/Drama. She was a Drisha fellow and learned in Nishmat's Machon Gavoha. RK Najman received her Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Professor Daniel Sperber and earned her certification in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from the NYU/Einstein Bioethics and Medical Humanities Certificate Program. She is a Senior Rabbinic Fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute in Jerusalem. She primarily lectures on Bio Ethics and Halakha and is the head the Gemara department at SAR Middle School, in Riverdale.
