Congregation Kol Ami warmly welcomes long-time congregant and author Rami Aizic for a special Pride Month and pre-Father’s Day Book Talk Night on Tuesday, June 10 from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The evening begins with Rami reading a few excerpts from his courageous new memoir My Dream of Fatherhood: An Unconventional Journey. In his book, Rami, who was born in Israel, opens up about the challenges he faced as a Jewish gay man in the 1980s and 1990s, when the idea of men like him pursuing parenthood—let alone biological fatherhood—was unheard of. Despite the societal barriers and stigmas of the time, Rami’s story is one of unwavering determination, grit and ultimately, success in achieving his dream of becoming a father. His memoir speaks to the universal desire for family, love and acceptance, and inspires readers to chase their dreams, no matter what the odds, and to never give up in the face of adversity.
