chanukah 2007/5768

Blessing for the Chanukiah & Readings for Each Night (120 KB PDF)

Congregation Kol Ami’s annual Chanukah Toy Store is back!

Starting Friday, November 9, 2007 through Friday, December 7, 2007, toys will be on display in the lobby following Shabbat evening services.  For as little as $5.00, you can make a donation that will deliver a toy from our display to the immigrant children of the West Hollywood Russian Community Center or to the children of the Nickerson Gardens Recreation Center.

If you would prefer, you may bring a NEW, CLEAN, UNWRAPPED toy, suitable for a child from 2 to 12 years old, and add it to our collection.

Thanks to the generosity of our temple community, hundreds of children have received holiday gifts through this toy drive.  This is your chance to give a memorable holiday to an underprivileged child.  Won’t you help us continue this wonderful Kol Ami Chanukah tradition?

Hag Sameach!

Tuesday, December 11th at 6:00 pm.

Congregation Kol Ami invites you to celebrate the last day of Chanukah at the Hollywood and Highland Center with Rabbi Denise L. Eger and Cantor Mark Saltzman.  There will be a multi city Chanukah Choir comprised of kids from many Temples around Los Angeles singing Chanukah's greatest hits. The event is about having fun and friendship to close out the Festival of Light. Additionally, our clergy will have the honor of lighting the huge Chanukiah in the courtyard. There will also be Chanukah cookies, drinks and snacks afterwards.  Restaurants and shops abound.  Of course, the movie complex is right there at Graumans for after program entertainment apropos to anyone who might wonder what to do afterwards or before.

The venue is in the main courtyard at the Hollywood and Highland Center: 6801 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028. The concert and candle lighting ceremony will begin at 6:00pm. This is a FREE event! Parking is located below the complex.

If you have additional questions please contact the Temple office at 323.606.0996.
