Chanukah at Kol Ami
Congregation Kol Ami holds its annual Chanukah songfest and menorah lighting (with a few latkes thrown in for good measure!) on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. The annual Chanukah service features every Chanukah melody you remember from your childhood and a few new ones for good measure. The Kol Ami Choir will join in and help to celebrate the holiday of dedication and religious freedom. Attendees are encouraged to bring their menorah/chanukiah so that we can usher in this Festival of Light together. Plan to celebrate together!
Congregation Kol Ami is also participating in a Chanukah event at Hollywood and Highland: Join Kol Ami’s Rabbi Eger and Rabbi Michelle Missaghieh of Temple Israel in lighting a candle of Chanukah at A Chanukah Celebration & Menorah Lighting Ceremony in the Central Courtyard of the Hollywood and Highland Center, 6801 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood on the fourth night of Chanukah, Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Various activities will be held from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. (Level 2 from parking structure--parking is $2 for 4 hours with H&H complimentary validation). Highlights include: Russ Mullen Jazz Band, singer Noa Dori, Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble, Children's Museum of Los Angeles activities, beverages provided by Starbucks, and gift bags for the children.
Congregation Kol Ami’s Annual Chanukah Toy Store is Back! Starting Friday, December 2nd through 23rd, 2005, toys will be on display in the lobby following Shabbat evening services. For as little as $5-10, you can make a donation that will deliver a toy from our display to the immigrant children of the West Hollywood Russian Community Center. Many of these children will be celebrating their very first Chanukah. If you would prefer, you may bring a new, unwrapped toy, suitable for a child 2-12 years old, and add it to our collection.
