One Night Only 2008 Congregation Kol Ami & 16th Annual Gala
For ONE NIGHT ONLY Congregation Kol Ami and Voice of My People Foundation present an explosive, tantalizing, jaw-dropping… unforgettable event! This year the 16th Annual Gala comes home to Kol Ami as we transform the Temple you know and love into the hottest, most exclusive night spot in town! On Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., the tents go up, the red carpet rolls out, the spotlights shine… and you are the star! This is guaranteed to be an experience at the Temple that you will never forget! We are thrilled to announce that we have three of the most amazing honorees in store for you. All of whom will be receiving the Shomer Tzedek (Guardian of Justice) Award: First up is Fran Solomon… some of you know Fran as one of the major leaders for the City of West Hollywood working as the council deputy for founding Councilmember, John Heilman. Others know Fran as one of our dedicated Board of Trustee members, spearheading our programming for the Temple. All of these accolades and more make her the perfect recipient of this prestigious honor! Our next honoree needs no introduction. It is none other than the brilliant Harvey Levin. For numerous years Harvey was the legal analyst for the Los Angeles Times and has been an Executive Producer for several shows; including The People’s Court, Moral Court, Superior Court, and most recently the hit show TMZ. We are thrilled to honor him at this year’s gala! Our final honoree is the collective group of Keith Lewis, Robin Voss and Robert Greenbaum. Together they are the Executive Producers and creators of the 2007 award winning documentary For the Bible Tells Me So. This groundbreaking documentary explores how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child and brilliantly reconciles homosexuality and biblical scripture. We are lucky to have all three of them join us for this very special evening! If this isn’t enticing enough we have two unbelievable performers that will dazzle and amaze you. The flamboyant and fabulous American Idol star and Broadway diva, Frenchie Davis, will bring down the house with her own unique interpretation of popular favorites and musical standards. Be prepared to have her rock your world! World renowned celebrity impersonator, Chad Michaels, will perform a medley of Cher songs… his spot-on illusions of Cher and other well-known performers has granted him the opportunity to entertain for many industry legends including Cher herself. You won’t believe your eyes and ears! Plus, VIP ticket holders will be treated to additional live entertainment in our exclusive rooftop lounge! In addition to the fabulous entertainment, your taste buds will be tantalized via a wide array of fabulous food stations, tray-passed hors d’oeuvres and appetizers and of course, delicious dessert temptations. This is one event you won’t leave hungry! This year, in order to promote a red hot club scene atmosphere, we have foregone traditional table seating, which will allow all attendees to mix and mingle, dine and dance throughout the entire tent. Plus, VIP ticket holders will have access to our exclusive rooftop lounge where several exciting surprises await you and your guests! Naturally this year’s gala wouldn’t be complete without our annual silent auction which will include a bevy of irresistible gifts, entertainment and dining opportunities, travel packages and more!!
