Kaddish and Yarzeit Plaque
There is no greater mitzvah than to remember our loved ones
who have died by saying Kaddish. Now through Congregation
Kol Ami's premier Yarzeit Plaque program, you can remember
your loved ones, family and friends, who have gone to their
eternal rest. The handsomely designed Yarzeit Plaque boards,
located in our new sanctuary, will continually perpetuate
the memory of your loved ones. Annually, each Yarzeit Plaque
donor will receive the following benefits:
- Notification of the approaching Yarzeit date.
- A light automatically illuminated on the wall beside
the plaque during the corresponding week of the Yarzeit
anniversary.
- Their loved one's name remembered on the Shabbat closest
to the Yarzeit date as well as inclusion in our Yom Kippur
Service "Scroll of Remembrance."
A unique feature of our Yarzeit Plaque wall is the opportunity
for personal placement of memorial stones. Following the
Jewish custom of leaving a stone as a sign that the deceased
has been visited and remembered, you will now be able to
honor this tradition each time you visit Kol Ami. As so many
of us live far away from family and friends, this affords
us the chance to maintain their memory close at hand.
