SOVA is a community food and resource program opperated by Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles. SOVA is the hebrew word that means "eat and be satisfied."
Congregation Kol Ami has been a presence at the Metro location of SOVA since 2003. We package groceries for those in need as well as assist in the stocking of the pantry and client intake.
Please join us the second Sunday of the month from 9:30 to noon at the SOVA Pantry. Afterwards, you can enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow congregants and volunteers during lunch at a local café nearby.
Throughout the year, we encourage you to bring donations of non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for drop-off in the SOVA collection barrels, located in the lobby of the synagogue. Why not make it a part of your Shabbat and holiday worship experience, by bringing food for needy members of our greater Los Angeles community?
The pantry is located at 1140 N. La Brea Ave, 1 block south of the synagogue.
